Hi, I have a keyword with 6,600 searhces and £3 cpc, but the keyword is something someone will buy not read articles about, i've been told if u rank page 1 with this keyword people will not read the articles and will actually click the adsense ad looking to buy, he gave an example of his wicker chair keyword site where people didn't want to read about articles on wicker chairs so clicked on the adsense ad looking to buy, therefore he made a lot of money from adsense, is this true do you think this will work, i need to know as seo is expensive and i don't want to waste my money on a site that is not going to make money.

The theory is OK, but you need to evaluate your particular situation first.

What is the amount of money you can expect per click on your site? How easy will it be to rank in the top 3 spots on Google? (Not first page, first three slots..) How much money would you need to invest monthly to maintain that level? How much content will you need to keep adding?

You need to put numbers to your idea and see if it makes sense or not. Theoretically it should, but none of us know the facts on your particular niche/keywords.

That is true. If you were to build an article site based on a certain product a bunch of people will just click on the ad, HOWEVER it seems that anytime someone tries to rank for a keyword with a product it's much tougher.

For example. If you own a site about tigers you could rank in for "african Tigers" and expand into more keywords like "Tiger Print" but the moment you go to rank for "Tiger toys" you'll find that it'll be a HUGE challenge. I have a giant site much like that myself and I'm ranking high for keywords with like 50,000 visitors per month but here I am trying to get "____- books" which is a 1,500monthly search thing and it's near impossible. Unless you are very good with seo don't do it.

As others have said, the idea is OK and works to some extent.

How much do you expect to make from one site with those stats? You won't retire off of it, but you will make some money. Domain names and hosting are relatively cheap. Throw up a site and see what happens. If it has some success, research and make another. And another ....

Thanks for the replies, do u think the site will make at least £100 a month as my 2 month seo is costing that much?

I don't want be wasting money on seo if the site us going to make me peanuts. Also only asking for an estimate in earnings
