As some of you may already know, YouTube recently redesigned their whole website. It doesn't even look like YouTube anymore! The new design scares the sh*t outta me! It amazes me that the web designers for a billion dollar company could only muster this turd of a product after eight months (!) of supposed testing in beta. That's a level of incompetence that's without precedent. Google: If you're gonna aim low, aim down all the way. Let's not half-a** things. Let's completely ruin them. What do you DP'ers think of the new design?
It sucks. It is starting to look like a social media site. I logged in just now and it says Find your friends on Youtube. Find your friends from additional networks. Here's what it also says Your YouTube account and Google account are now connected, so soon you'll need to sign in with your existing username and your Google Account password. You'll no longer be able to sign in with your YouTube password. Not very impressive. Hope to see some improvements soon.
It sucks the BIG one! Logged in this week & it took me an age to find anything - the "favorite" star system is now on a hidden menu as is the video response link - in fact EVERYTHING is on a hidden menu! In this instance less is quite definitely NOT more - awful
I actually find it to be easy, but it still sucks. That's the thing that pisses me off the most. They've removed my beloved stars!
Well, I think we've come to a conclusion... the new YouTube design is horrible. I participated in a survey on their website about the new/old design, and yes, I totally made it clear for them that the new design sucked balls. You do the same, and we may get our old design back!
Im not a fan of it. Im sure I'll get used to it but find myself clicking more times to get to certain features- surely thats not improving the site at all? Looks to generic- everything seems to be churned out of the same pot at the moment!
Looks a lot more light weight to me & the pages definitely load faster. It could be youtubes solution to googles new algorithm value "Page load speed". Google added a page load speed value recently that is starting to drop pages from the search index that take too long to load. Even if that's not why they changed their design, it's definitely beneficial that they did so that they can still compete in the SERPs.
YouTube, the name itself suggests it's you who tube. Then, why not to make its optimum use? Uploading personal Video on YouTube (YT) is the most popular source of entertainment. Besides, using it always as a fun thing, you can also use it for your business; Yes, for your own business. Be it small or large, a business can always benefit from video marketing in a great way.
