Yesterday i have read a blog,on this blog,the blogger show a video which is matt cutts said the meta keyword has no effect. So what do you think of it?
I saw this too. I'm not sure...so I won't guess. But I still use them for every page on my sites for now until something else comes along. I've always been a big believer in good content gets the best search traffic...the pages I've spent days creating and made something unique are usually the pages that pop for me in terms of search traffic.
I think the title of the page, blog, article whatever is very important. A descriptive title utilizing keyword or keywords when possible along with descriptive content with keywords and phrases in the article works very well if you know your market. I think it helps if your site is more popular and ranks well to begin with. If your site is 20 million alexa then I don't know that a keyworded title and content will help that much. Better off getting some good backlinks first.
most important are title tag and meta description, coz' they are the one that crawled and indexed by google..
meta tag still helpful to visitor once they read 2 line in google.com and keyword attach in it, that will help in seo
I think putting meta keywords doesn't helping for Google. but yahoo is still considering Meta keywords tag. so putting meta keywords will not harm your site any way.
IMO, each page of your website should have different keywords and descriptions that reflect the content on those pages. This can help when trying to optimize different sections of your site for different keyword phrases. Search engines may then display that exact page in the results directing visitor to that specific section rather than just the home page.
As the post mentions, even Meta Description doesn't have any bearing on SEO, but if worded right, and if Google uses it for the snippet, it can help bring visitors to your site rather than someone elses.
Yes, i watch the video at youtube too. This is really surprise me when i come to know google are totally ignore meta tag. However, as i know other search engine still using it, and therefore, no plan on removing the meta tag from my website
I think that meta keywords are unnecessary hassles for us webmasters. Pages need to have it and they should be unique. So it's quite boring if you want to set them up.
Even thought meta keywords is not important for google, they might be important for other search engines. But these keywords are too easy to cheat with, that's why most search engine that want to provide quality results will often ignore them. I use them nevertheless just in case. At least we don't get penalized for them
Oh,god, i've forget other serarch engines, yes,you are right,i could add meta keyword,but we should not stacking them.
Meta keyword tag might still work for some other SEs or it would be picked up by the 4 tip SEs someday future. It would not hurt you. Why not do it?
I have not used the keywords tag for few years now. The important tag is the title: the description tag is of some importance too.
They are of no use as far as getting rankings on Google is concerned. But there are some search engines that still give importance to the presence of meta tags in your web page
