    I think it's pretty good.

    I mean I can see googles perspective on it, $10 million to them for software isn't much (considering the amount of money they will make from advertisements on mobiles as well as normal computers from people browsing the web) and $10million is a good sum of money to get great people working on creating the software.

    The programmers can't write it all, but will probably set up the framework :)

    It gives someone else a good chance of becoming semi-famous for something.

    They could get their software programmers to do it, but then they would only have one version to choose from. If they hold a competition, they can look at different variations so much easier.

    Means they will have a team of programmers reading the code right? I dont know I have a feeling it is something else.
