    You need a border around the ads to seperate it from the pictures.

    Like Kevinn said, you need a border to safeguard against a picky Google tech banning you. Nothing fancy, a simple 1px line in light grey should suffice. That way you keep within TOS and it doesn't clash with your design too much.
