Hey guys, What do you think fo Adsense Revenue Sharing forums.. like this one? I love DP and a few others.. but I've never really received any earnings from them. Not that I care, but I was just curious as to how your experiences with them have been.
There are quite a few people here who have made some money from this. The only issue is that Webmasters are generally the least likely to click on ads.Or even if they do wish to ,they go through the original site.Their behaviuor is quite different from the average surfer. But still a thumbs up to such forums..
Since 22nd april $0.63 on digital point but 0.43 are from clicks and the rest is from page impression and site targeted campaign. I'm not a big threads creator, more of a replying poster, you really earn on the threads you created on DigitalPoint if I understood it well.
The earnings don't seem to be that good. It might be a better earner on non-webmaster forums, but in that case it will also be less of an incentive for people to post. There will be a lot of members who just think "Huh, what's Adsense?" for most other topics. In theory it seems like a good idea, in that it gets people posting and starting discussions. This is good for the community and good for the forum owner. But there are a couple of downsides. From the point of view of the poster and Adsense publisher, it's not always good to allow your publisher id to be used on a site you don't control fully. It means you're not in full control of TOS violations. If someone hijacks your thread with porn images, for example. You are relying on vigilant moderation to protect your standing with Google. From the forum owner and moderator's point of view, there is the risk of a lot of junk threads being created as people attempt to boost their earnings as quickly as possible, without thinking too hard about what they post. Again, it means you need good moderation to make the whole thing run smoothly.
People should feel safe joining Shawn's Adsense rev share, as the guy is some kind of website genius and he, in all likelihood, has redundancies for redundancies, but I would be very weary of joining the rev sharing of people you don't know, or have no track record to speak off.
I've had one click from DigitalPoint. It's not a lot of money, but it's a fair way of rewarding forum contributors - so why not?
Its a great idea; but yeah, webmasters are definitely the least likely to click on adsense ads. I ignore them when I surf unless they really catch my eye with something interesting.
