Hi, I've had some serious thoughts about a website I've been developing for 8 months now. It consists of a main website, a wiki site and a very popular forum. The website has a Page Rank of 4 and receives around 3,000 uniques on average, per week. It also has nearly 4,000 pages indexed on google alone. URLs MMORPG: www.civ-online.com Forum: www.civ-online.com/forum Wiki: www.civ-online.com/wiki Details There are just over 3,040 registered members of the game, 242 forum members, 31,950 forum posts and 80 wiki articles. I have also made a small revenue from the site. It's not very consistent, so I'd estimate an overall of ~$200 so far in 8 months. The website has been featured on many Civ fan sites, such as one of gamespy's websites, and it has even been featured within a Serbian PC magazine. There have also been numerous press releases. Everything is 100% hand coded by myself, and many hundreds of hours of work have been put into the custom design, programming and moderation. I'm not sure if this is anything to go by, but dnScoop.com evaluated the site at $4,490. I'd be grateful if someone could appraise the website. Cheers, Lee.
If you could popularize your site well enough, and get more players... And then sell advertisements on it so that you could earn $100+ a month.. You could expect mid $ X,XXX for it. But as is, you could get anything from $100 to $500 for it.
