    Hi everyone,

I am a designer, writer, videograpaher and know a bunch of experts who really know their stuff. They have the knowledge and I can package it into a product. But looking at the numbers in clickbank (cbengine) only certain types of products make it.

In your experience what' the criteria for a good product that people buy and affiliates can easily promote and sell?

    Many thanks
    Michael

Depends on the niche, but these seem to be the main factors:
Credibility-whether the customer is convinced the product provides the solution they want
Clarity-when you state the problem and offer the solution
Proof-offer plenty of proof that your system works for other people
Information-it makes you seem more credible when you can inform your customers with authority on the field they want to know more about

That's about all I can think of for now, if you do some searching here and on warrior forum you'll have the answers you need.

Good luck with your efforts :)

I saw a post on here about chickencoops. Why does chicken coops pull but not hundreds of others products. I've seen a number of sales page covering the points you make. What you say makes sense and I agree but then there is the product itself. What makes a good product.

I concur here...specifically about providing proof...always think like the consumer and say "If what you are saying is true then X evidence should be available" You have to find what X is in the consumers mind and provide it. If you see the Swing Trading course in my signature you will find that I load that site up with 3rd party evidence and not just my say so.

    Good luck!

What makes a good product-A good product is made when you give people exactly what they want. Make your product the final solution and they won't look any further but just don't promise them the moon or your affs will get seriously ticked off at the refunds.

That chicken coop site encompasses all the points I mentioned, where the author specifies his experience in building these, gives good information on the subject and speaks with conviction regarding credibility. You also need to research your target market and activate the triggers they respond to-that will depend on your niche.

Another thing I've noticed is sites that excessively use graphics and design rarely do well, whereas sites with low-key graphics or just black and white text seem to do better (the yeast infection site is a prime example). I'd say you should make your sales page presentable and neat, letting the story and copy take priority, as opposed to covering up inadequate copy with blinking lights-makes it seem like you're trying too hard to sell someone.

This is a good callout....I think this one depends on how you position your product...if you are positioning it as someone personally selling their knowledge then simple is best because it feels more authentic. If you are positioning it as a company selling a product you need to step up the design because then that would feel more authentic.

    Good luck!

hey thanks for all the good input. I can see how that can make a big difference. too much flashy graphics overloads and yeah if you can get people reading your story, they'll get taken in by it.

But let's say we've got the same great copy and design for two different products what sort of product is going to work best. I mean at the end of the day you can have a bad product and great copy/sales page and it sells. But I have seen a lot of good sales pages/great copy and the product still does not sell. What is it in the product that makes the difference? I mean a product on how to brush your dog might do badlt but one on how to get max traffic or become a forex cash rich super hero kicks! In that example the pull is that the product will help you make fast money.. but what other things do you think make a cool product?

I'll repeat-A good product is one that gives the customer exactly what he wants.

Find a good demand, structure your sales page and product based on this then create affiliate resources and lend support to people promoting your product and TEST your conversion rates, most products fail because publishers dont test their pages and affiliates lose money through ppc which just leads to more frustration for everyone. Apart from this there isn't much more one can do so you'll have to rely on as much data as you can gather before proceeding. It also helps to talk to publishers in the same niche. I've quite a bit of experience with the health niche in case you have some specific doubts, apart from many other pros in this forum who'll be glad to help.

All the best with your product.

ok I understand, that's a good point. to find what a customer wants we gotta test?

do you have any suggestions for the best way to test conversion rates? Can you test a product before producing it?
