What do you think is the best keyword density?

I have no good idea about the best keyword density. At the same time I do think that keyword density should not be too high for good results. What do you think?

I would go alot higher than that to have better results. Maybe between 10-15%

As high as you can go without making your page look spammy and unreadable to humans.

Filling the page with keywords will certainly spoil the very readability of the page. At times it is annoying to find such pages across the Internet.

10-15% is way high. I stick to approximately 1 occurence every 100 words. Placement is key. It should occur within the first 90 characters of your page and within the last sentence. Incorporate synonyms, too.

A good keyword density is one that changes up with your keywords and doesn't repeat them so much, seriously.

For readability like at article directories, syndicated content, press releases, etc. whatever sounds natural, don't try to "force" the keywords in. The idea is to get them published.

For strictly trying to rank in the SERPs I've seen articles up to 7% kwd grab the #1 spot (including h1, h2 and h3 tags - recommended). But 10 - 15% is way to high IMO, that's one in 10 - 10.5 words.

For the SERPs use the exact keyword or Google won't even recognize the keyword you're targeting. Try entering your URL into Google's keyword tool and see what it thinks the most relevant keywords for your page is (set to relevant by default). Even with exact match domains it's probably not the keyword you're targeting.

For articles on other sites article directories/syndication use LSI keywords to make it sound more natural and you'll increase the chances of it getting published.

P.S. I forgot to add that the searchengine algorithms are constantly changing so what's a good keyword density today doesn't necessarily mean it'll still be good 6 months down the road.

Keyword density should be 1% for a 400-500 word article.

Don't concentrate on keyword density. About 1%, or once every 100 words if fine - that's the maximum that EzineArticles.com allows. Instead, think more about LSI theming. Theme your articles with alternative meanings, synonyms and the kind of words Google expects to find that are related to your topic.

Properly done, an article constructed like this will outrank keyword stuffed articles every single time. A properly themed article will rank for hundreds of relevant terms over time. A keyword stuffed article will rank for just one.

    Your choice!

    John.

yes, you don't want the search engines to think you're spamming your content for them to pick you.

Yes you are right we should always try to make a minimum use of keywords in our content, it should always range from 3 to 5% not more then that.

Thank you so much for the information. What would be the keyword density for a 1000 words article?
