Hello Members, I apologize if this post offended you. I just wanted to discuss. If it was my father who had two wives, I'll be the first to say "I disagree". Give me the reason: why do you agree or why you disagree. Thanks
I think it depends on the situation. I don't think it is necessary in modern civilizations. I think it would only be necessary in a place where you need to grow and sustain a population or maintain a fading culture. I feel that marriage is for love and that you can't share that equally with multiple people.
i think its unfair on the wifes tbh who would really want to be fighting all there life for 1st or 2nd place? we are all humans not rats. treat each other with the respect you would like to receive yourself.
Do the women in these relationship know "their place?" not to sound like a jerk, but I thought there were "reasons" this sort of thing too place.
yeah the reason is men power these countries with no reguard for their women im male so dont argue with me im sticking up for wifey number 2 lol
haha.. nice topic dude!! depending on how to deal with the problem. If the "first wife" agrees, it does not matter. should be discussed before.. I agree for it!!
I'm from Australia and I reckon it is a little stupid. Why would anyone want two wives to begin with? The whole idea of having a wife is to be in love, and to be happy and want to spend forever dedicated to them. If you start doing that, then why can't the wife have two husbands?
Ah, the age old question circles back. There are true reasons to have multiple "wives" but I don't think so for any modern civilizations. For instance, if there was a war and the population suffered (both men and women), men typically would have to go off to war thus reducing the amount of men even more. One man to one woman wouldn't be beneficial to reviving the population.
That is true IropPaze, however there are no "major" world wars currently happening. Some countries which I won't name, still believe in multiple wives per one person. I mean whatever works in their country but in Australia I'm glad it's one wife for one husband. If not, you face the law generally haha.
haha Yeah, I tried to pass the logic onto my wife about population sustainment and she wasn't feeling it either so I'm with you it should be one to one.
Actually, I don't agree with a marriage with multiple husbands or wives. But I think a wive with two husbands is worse than a husband with two wives; because their child will not know who is his father. While a husband with two wives; of course the child will know who is his mother.
