What do You Think? - Channel ID Affects CTR?!

Okay, so heres something that I have noticed. I once created an ad code and gave it the channel id "Proxy Network" and put that ad on all the proxies. If I ever needed to change its color or size, I did it manually, but I basically have that one ad code on all my proxies.

Then I made an ad code for my other site, www.lookforav.com, and put that ad there, with the channel id LookForav.

Now heres what I noticed. If I get like 4 clicks on LookForav, earnings are going to be about $2 and CTR will be about 40%. If I get 4 more clicks later on, on the same day (meaning total is now 8 clicks) the earnings become a total of $6 (meaning now I got $4 from the clicks) and CTR becomes about 70%. Thats really good, because as I get more clicks on LookForav, I earn much more.

On my proxy network, I might get like 25 clicks a day, but CTR stays about 5% and earnings from 25 clicks might be about $3. Thats horrible.

What do you think? Does having a separate channel id for each site increase CTR (therefore increase earnings) more?

I guess theres only one way to find out, by actually making a separate ad with unique channel id for each site and check. Im going to do it. Lets find out.

I don't think so, it's just that different niches pay differently, proxy is low (0.1$ per click isn't the lowest on earth, mind you) while another niche can be way higher. I'm about 100% sure if something else has to do with it it's not a separate channel id!

Well, im not specifically talking about channel ID, although I completely understand what you mean about the niche.

But im talking about actually having a separate ad for each site rather than making an ad cod and then manipulating it and putting it on sites.

    I'm not so sure.
I have one channel called bigmoney, and it pays really well.
Another channel is called adsenseloser, and it doesn't pay anything!
    .
    Hee-hee. Just kidding. Couldn't resist.

Since I used up all my adsense channels long ago, I now have to "double-up" similar channels, just to get data. I only do this with low-volume pages. On high volume pages, it is still One Page = One Channel. Otherwise, I can't tell what the **** is going on, which is NOT acceptable. When I make changes, I MUST know the effect. Otherwise, why bother, if I have to wear a blindfold?

It would be really cool if Google would just give us one default channel per page. This would allow us to optimize, without all the messing around. But alas, it is not to be. Some people have 100,000 pages, and Google SURE doesn't want to provide THAT MANY channels.

My Partial Solution: The REALLY low paying pages should be moved to another advertiser. Otherwise, your low eCPM will drag down your EPC, and you will make much less money. Google doesn't want ALL your business, just the best part of it. If I were Google, I would do it the same way. Just give me your best CTR pages (legitimate), and put different advertisers on your low-paying, low-CTR pages.

i myself use seperate channel for not only each site but for each ad block so that i can monitor the performance. however, that doesn;t have anything to do with your earnings. you will get the same regardless. regarding your proxy site having low CTR, that is actually normal to have low CTR and pay for proxy sites
