lol.. almost everyone in this bulletin hates vista hahah.. well its kinda slow like i said but i dont know if you like it i guess it good by the way it looks but ya i dont like it ill stick with that side.
I consider vista an overbloated system. I hope Microsoft to update or even better write a new OS. Anyway tryied the Vista SP1 and i see some perforance difference but the gap with xp is still noticable ...
There are still lots of applications that isnt compatible with Vista like the Oracle database. When Vista was new, it was also incompatible with MySQL. I might wait until all these patches are cleared before I consider on moving from xP to Vista
Hate it...Programs always crashing and its a memory whore I got 4GB (32bit OS though) and stuff has been fine so far but that's because I havn't started using it for gaming yet..... It came pre-installed on my laptop, was gonna dual install XP (keep vista for dx10 games) but now I just cbf so I'll force myself to get used to it but in all honestly I would be using Ubuntu+Beryl if it could play as many games. Games is the ONLY deciding factor for me as it is a huge factor. And I just cbf with using different OS to do stuff.
To be honest I got Vista from my MSDN account and a few days later, XP was back on. I think Vista was a new Windows ME, looks pretty but didn't actually work properly. Of course thats just my opinion, but my XP is still doing well for what I need!
I finally was able to kick Vista off my laptop. Thanks to someone at HP for telling me that my laptop drivers were the same as a Compaq laptop, so I downloaded those, worked perfectly. Best part, I'm running XP Pro SP3 now, and I have all my games at high settings now, no glitches, I think my laptop was meant for XP it is sooo fast now
My girlfriends laptop came with windows VISTA on it. i was sad to find out it didn't have the 3D windows option :-( Suposidly there is a way to edit the registery to activate the feature - but i'm not about to mess anything up :-x
I couldnt go near xp ever again after using vista. You gotta problem with vista, upgrade its not 2004 anymore ! If not continue use Xp
I've got vista and to be honest I don't think I could go back to xp now. You can't slate the OS for being slow, if your computer isn't good enough then it won't work. If you were to put xp on a pentium 2 it'd be damn slow, but you'd blame the pc wouldn't you. Personally I think vista is slick and has some amazing features, sure it takes some getting used to but remember how much XP was hated at first?
