I am thinking of starting a video website with video embeds from dailymotion, metacafe etc.. I came across this term "video search engines". Have you used any VSE's for your video sites? Are they helpful in gaining traffic?? Do they work with embedded video sites or do i have to host the videos myself in order to get my traffic from them?? Thanks.
It could be an interesting idea...although Youtube in itself *is* a video search engine. Mostly all videos you'll find on those other video sites have a version up on Youtube already.

I think that it is cool but I am not able to used them to bring traffic to my sites before. Probably because of my niches.
The obvious ones are google video and yahoo video search. You can submit your media rss to them and you'll get some traffic. But most of the others (like truveo) don't approve sites with embedded videos.
