I have several unlock iphone site which join with affiliate program, I'm using adwords for getting more traffic and use Testimonial Videos for getting customer trust, for me this method is worked, I put the video at the homepage, so visitor will see the videos and my website get more trust I don't think this is fake strategy or ilegal, I think use testimonial video just another strategy for getting customer trust and it's worked, how about you? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2182591
Video marketing is great for the fact it is free. It can be very time consuming but the end results can be great. If you know what you're doing and can get the video to go viral you're laughing! I think using fake testimonials is a little unethical but hey - it's a dog eat dog world.
Like any method in marketing, it depends on how you use it, obviously video marketing is huge, when you think television advertising is pretty much video marketing, it's a huge market and if your good at it, then you can make a ton of cash, taking advantage of websites like youtube is just a small part of video marketing, you can use it for so, so much more.

Personally, I would not be persuaded to buy a product or service just because of user testimonials. It would not make any difference if they were written testimonials or video testimonials; I'm very skeptical and know that most of them are probably fake. Some users might feel impressed by them, but for me, they just make the site look more like a scam. However, I have nothing against other types of videos, such as those that demonstrate how to use a product or service.

Is there really such a thing as fake strategy? Hehe but surely, your strategy is nothing illegal unless those people giving the testimonials are made to so under duress. Just kidding. And I agree with one poster above, it would take me more than a set of testimonials to buy. So always get creative while able to persuade in making your videos.
Video Marketing is a great medium. If you are creative enough then there is nothing better than video marketing to get famous... and video is the best medium to go viral... it spreads like wold fire!! So therefore, what you have in the video has to be creative, curious and provoking!!
