Hi, I use facebook a lot. I get near about 100 visitors daily only from facebook. I use many techniques to get traffic from facebook. The main mehtod of getting traffic via facebook is making group and adding members to it, Simply! On the other hand, I use the 'share' button etc. to share the link. Do you also use facebook? or you use some other website traffic techniques? Share your ideas. Thanks
Facebook, a social networking site which has recently shot to stardom on the Internet, is a great channel for marketers to leverage on. As of this writing, it has an Alexa ranking of 7 and a PageRank (PR) of 8. This shows that Facebook is one of the most popular sites, with tons of traffic and potential. So what makes Facebook became one of the best places to market on the Internet? Facebook is very different from other social networking sites like MySpace or Friendster. One of the major differences is that it is an open platform for application developers to post their applications on it. The best part is that applications can viral easily on Facebook, reaching out to millions of members worldwide.
I use FB for promoting some of my websites, but I prefer Twitter because it gives me so much more then FB does. I tried several advertising options on FB even paid for an ad once but it didn't give me exactly what I was looking for, so I went back to twitter where i do most of my marketing now. Its great to hear that you succed with using FB to promote your site but could you give the members on Digital point forums some tips on how to be a succes with FB like you are. I think many webmasters could benefit from gaining a couple of 100 unique visitors more a day. Do you use any special tactics or do you just add as many FB users to your friendlist that you can? How do you get people to join your groups, what are they about? Your website topic or another subject?
# Profile Page: All Facebook members get their own profile page when they sign up. Use this as your canvas to upload pictures, logos and other information about your company. # Groups: Use the site's Groups feature to network with your target audience. You can join existing groups or create one just for your business to amp up the buzz about its services. # Facebook Marketplace: College kids use the site's Marketplace to scout out used couches and find roommates, but a savvy business owner can advertise services and product sales, as well as search for new employees. # Networks: Ignoring the Networks question when you create your company's profile could lose it a lot of business. List your business's city, industry, neighborhood and any other relevant information to let potential customers and business partners know where they can find you. # Facebook Badge: Facebook describes its Badge feature as "a customizable way to share your Facebook information on other Web sites." Creating your own Badge will link Facebook friends to your company's Web site. # Events: Instead of printing out flyers and mailers the next time you want to advertise an event, use the free Facebook Events app to get the word out. # FunWall: Mass emails are so yesteryear. If you want to keep in close contact with your Facebook friends, use the FunWall to create a message or send a greeting to everyone at once.
FaceBook and all other types of Social Media Channels are great to make money. There is no secret and if you find a secret, never share it with anybody!
Any good ways to semi-ethically get a larger Facebook following? I've tried getting a close group of followers to blast out mass "Suggest a Friend" invites for me, but haven't had too much luck with it.
OK, here's a little hint for you - when you think of Facebook bringing traffic, think about it in two ways: 1. What you can do on Facebook 2. What you can do on your website 1. You have all sorts of stuff you can do on FB to bring you traffic. People before me mentioned all that. What I do is I created a FB page for my website and I have an editor posting user relevant content there. Fb users click on it and it bring traffic. That and only that generated aroud 100 users daily, as you can see on the image below. 2. Ton of stuff you can do on your website, like using FB plugins (See: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins) On my webpage, we introduced a very simple community trick - vote for a favourite whatever. You can see an example here: http://www.ringeraja.rs/porodica-porodici-deca-glasanje Why and how is this working? For each post in there, you have FB likes. Consider it like a free promotion of your website, when people click on them. Their friends see it on their Home ... They want to join in ---> Traffic. I marked it clearly on the graph - the effect of this. With red arrow you have marked 1. November, when we launched that on the website. On 1 December we added another contest like that. And whoosh, difference is obvious? I hope this helped a little
