What do you think about this logo - good or bad?

    Hi guys,

I have a client who insists on putting this logo on their new site. I raised some doubts about the logo quality, but they say that "This logo is not just great, or super, or phenomenal - it's downright totally fantastic".

I am really trying to get an unbiased opinion here. What do you think about it? Could you give me some reasons of why you like it or not?

    Thanks,

Unprofessional- like something an 8 year old using photoshop for the first time would come up with.

I think it's kinda old-fashioned, simplicity that is the most important thing

this log is so professional and good looking some review point from my side :-
    • Color combination are good
    • Size are little big
    • Slogan are not impressive
    Thanks

I agree with Dean26. It's a bit old fashioned. Back in the early 2000's I'd die to have a logo like that. You can, of course, ask us: "What is not old fashioned then?" I think if go through dozens and dozen of websites you should start getting the feel of what contemporary logo design looks like. Based on that experience you will be able to design your own more contemporary logo(s).

As a logo designer, I don't find it appealing. It can be made by anyone easily. It's just a logo with a stylized font, nothing special really. The metallic finish will be hard to fit to any site.

Retro...bevels/gradients/drop shadows...not modern by a long shot...ok if retro is the look they're going for...otherwise trash it

The best logos are very simple in design. It you think of the most recognisable logos there are very few elements. Macdonalds for example is just an M. I would recommend you:
    Change the colour scheme
Change the slogan and drop it from the logo
Use the same font across the whole design
The name is quite long, perhaps a graphic logo may be more effective

all these old school effect make me want to.... plus a logo should look good and in black&white with no effect which is not the case for this one.

Agree with this. When I started my business, I had a very "Web 2.0" style logo created and, after talking to an advertising professional, realized that, while ok for websites, it wouldn't work for a business. Look at Target, or Disney, or Walmart. Very simple designs that can be used on shirts, business cards, etc and still look great. They all also use a distinctive shape. Disney's is basically just 3 circles but they use it EVERYWHERE and now I can't see that shape without thinking about Mickey Mouse. Now my logo is one color, easy to read, and on everything from my door to my phone case without looking odd.

    Keep it simple.

I honestly do not like it at all. I think that the logo looks kind of cheap. I mean just about everyone could make a logo like that by using photoshop, its very simple. Also it is pretty large for just a logo I do believe.

I don't know what these guys do, but that logo looks like it belongs on a website from the 90's, surrounded by .gif animations of fire and a bunch of sparkles that follow your cursor around the screen. :D

I think it looks like something from the early 2000's and you could pay someone 5 bucks to make something a lot better.
Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, just dated.
