What Do You Think About Some Basic Statistics

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by digitalpoint, Mar 3, 2005.

Now that we have new/beefy servers that could handle the load, I'm tossing around the idea of setting up the ad network to give some basic statistics. Probably just a weekly (maybe daily) running total of the number of end-user impressions (how many times your ad has been seen by end users).

That data could then yield some pretty charts for everyone on a per ad basis.

Yes! It would also make people feel better. I hardly ever see my ads anymore and have to wonder if their really being shown.

Yes; advertising can't be done efficiently without good feedback. Stats are the cornerstone of advertising campaigns. We can track incoming traffic through tracking mechanisms but we can't offset it against impressions so it's hard to improve on the ads since you have nothing to go by.

Yeah hijacked is right. Stats would be great. Impressions, # of ads in rotation, ads of # of domains are few of the stats that come to my mind.

No because it can't without redirects or a script on your page.

A click through is from A to B. Recording it requires monitoring on both A and B and communication between the two.

I love to see some stats!

I vote that we keep the cap so us small website's don't get dominated and over-run by large sites (like forums).

If no cap, If I run co-op on Amazon.com What would my weight be? 100000000000000?

    My 2 cents.

Right now we all trust the honesty of the programming that are ads being displayed as they should be...and I'm Ok with that. I think stats are a great thought. Would the stats include information such as where your ads were displayed?
