Dear friends, I'd like to know your opinion of our site www.petshelter.biz/ I try to earn some money for our shelter from it. Does the site have any potential for earning money? Maybe someone has any idea how we should improve the site? I know, the site's designe is a zero almost. But i'm not a webdesigner. What do you think about this all? Regards.
I closed the page after 3sec... i dont trust sites that looks bad (just text) Its always worth to pay $50-$100 to make the site look better
Sweet Georgia Brown...where to begin... I think your best bet is to look at other sites for ideas, and do better. Change the background, or get rid of it. Get rid of the banner on top. You need more pics of animals! Perhaps one per link? You are talking too much, and it is centered. It doesn't look right. Align it to the left. In fact, wrap your intro. around a big picture of a, whatever. Like in a magazine. Try to find someone, preferably a college student, who can download a video from YouTube and put it in your site. Type in the keywords matching what you do, and some videos should pop up. There's more, but I can't focus. I keep thinking about that woman in the yellow bikini.
you need a new one! No disrespect but the site is in poor condition. Have you ever thought of using a CMS or a blog platform like WP or blogger?
I would consider buying something like sitexpro or an other html editor if you want to make the website yourself. The website looks very bad, sorry. Regards, Timmy
Thank you. I'll try to re-build the site. Problem is, we don't have 100 or 50 USD to buy a design for site. We spend on the homeless pets all free money of ours. I've began to think, we wasted off the money when we bought the domain name and paid per hosting. I thing we might be use a free one.
Keep it the way it is. The poor design goes well with your theme of selflessness. It seems to relay a sense of sincerity that you have for your cause. Like saying "We can't afford much, but t least we're making an effort" Set aside the design concerns and concentrate on building relationships with similar charitable sites to build your credibility.
I'd say add some color and perhaps some tables. Stay away from pastels and really heavy solid areas, it makes everything look out of date like the interior of a 70's home.
MTheory I agree with you. The whole 'we can't afford a good website because we are helping out' vibe goes with me too.
Just a thought...but maybe you could find a web designer to do a little "ro bono" site for you. It's hard to say no to people who are trying to help animals and don't have any $$.
Terrible site imho. Sorry. It's hard to provide constructive criticism when the English is terrible and the design is terrible. Spend more time on the design and proper grammar, otherwise no one will take you seriously.
Nick, you don't have $100?! And a good site doesn't need to be fancy or technical. Look at TheList.FM. I built it with FrontPage. It's mainly just tables and cells. And keep that URL! It's a good one. Don't jump ship yet.
I have to echo what many others here have said. You don't have money? Wordpress is FREE plus there are hundreds of themes and plugins that you cab get for free as well. Your site reminds me of an old Angelfire or Tripod site from 12 years ago. There is no reason for it and no excuse. I build the majority of my domains up with Wordpress because I have the SEO down fairly good and the updating and reporting to Social Bookmark sites gets me lots of Google Love. EX: site that is a couple weeks old - InfoProductPodcast.com This one was built today - WebKinzToBuy.com Gregg
Hi Nick, As a huge animal lover I just want to say bravo for your efforts in helping our furry friends. I have sent a PM with my offer to help you out.
