As I read in many threads, having a proxy and putting some adsense on it, would make some bucks. I want to take the risk and make a proxy site. I only have 30 $ to spend for a domain and a host. 1. What do you think about this Idea? 2. Is it allowed to put adsense on the page, I have seen some proxys who have adsense. 3. How could I market/ promote the proxy for free to get traffic? 4. Where can I get a complete proxy page code for free (My html skills are limited, but I understand the fragments of a complete code)? Thanks for fast replys.
A proxy is a site that allows you to surf anonymos. Normally school children go to a proxypage and surf through it. This way, their parents don`t see in the traffic history, which internet pages they visited.
That could be a good idea, but you will need more than $30 to make it happen. People who use proxies for surfing often do bad things with them - there is a reason they don't want their identity known. I would suspect that the charges for the bandwidth you would use would far outweigh the money you would make from ads. If you were going to do this, you would probably need a dedicated server. They run anywhere from the low hundreds per month on up. Just my opinion though.
30.00 a month isn't going to cut it for the reasons listed above. Bandwidth and server are going to be the limiting factors. Most inexpensive hosts aren't even going to allow you to run a proxy on their servers (I know I wouldn't)
Before you go applying for Googles adsense, you need a complete website with fresh content or they will not approve your application. I would go for keyword first and then content unless you have a specific in mind.
I think you could find some cheap hosting off ebay(reliability might be poor) but it could work to suit your needs. Buzzboss has some good notes about fresh content, but if you add a couple of pages that explain your buisness model, that would be enough to satisfy the needs of google. For marketing, go find forums that talk about proxy servers, and add some links and comments there. For design, come up with a sketch of what you want, and see if you can get a lowball bid on rent-a-coder or some other outsourcing website. Or suck it up, and spend your time learning the language. But in general, I think business are doomed to fail if there is no care put into the product. If you are running through the motions to make a quick buck, then the results will probably not be all that great.
No. Google only allows one adsense publisher per page. If you are displaying a page that has already adsense on it and you put yours on top you are violating the adsense TOS. If that person has already the max number of ads running you are additionally violating the max number of ads allowed. Way to get your adsense account banned. If that person shows YPN ads, you are violating another rule of adsense (no other context ads). You could sign up with Adbrite to use popups (or popunders) or you could read out the meta-tags of that page and use it to pull context senstive ads from Commission Junction.
Or come up with a unique site with unique content, and monetize it some other way. There are plenty of proxies, and plenty of MFAs. The web doesn't need any more.
I just wanted to ask you if it`s a win situation or not, I have seen some proxies with adsense. Well I wouldn`t do it then. Thanks for reflection.
Thats work. Some don't like it. (Gimme the script for a proxy, will ya?, I'll stick some Adsense on and get rich)
You'll need more money. You can't start a business with only $30, not if you intend on making any real money.
domain for a year : $4.99 hosting for 2 month: $25 knowing how to market your site for free on the internet: priceless I don't know what you are talking about ClickChick.
@Clickchick I don`t want to risk more. I am doing this adsense stuff, because I need some extra money. I don`t have more your post is contra productive. host: 12$ a month a .com domain costs here in Austria about 20$/year @ andre75 where can I get a domain for 5 bucks?
I did it once. Partly out of curiousity. I bought a years worth of webhosting for $10. It lasted only six months, the page loading was pretty snappy, and the uptime was around 95%. Sure you get what you pay for. But if you are working with a $30 budget, then the choices are rather limited.
Good point, but then again, I wouldn't try to start anything with a $30 budget. I'd probably use it to put some gas in my car and find a 9-5 job
