I have seen the Chinese products being sold at rock bottom prices when compared to the well known branded products. I didn't dare to buy one since I already own a Sony cell phone and Sony dvd player. One of my friend bought a chinese cell phone at a very cheap rate which really made me envious. His contention is "All electronic goods will go down after 2 or 3 years. So I will keep this one till it works and if some thing happens, I will simply throw it since I bought it at a cheap price." How many of you agree with my friend?;)

    I agree with dairyman's friend.

They arn't really cheap knock-offs. Wasn't the Iphone not released in some country like that because their phones already surpass it?

But if they are cheap then i'd get one, see if it's any good and probably keep it till it breaks. But to me a phone is a phone, I don't really like to have a camera or mp3 player on it, till they get much better of course, then I might consider it.

I agree with dairyman that since Chinese made cell phones and mp3 players are cheap and if we get a good two or three years out of them, even if it croaks it's still money well spent.

I think even if you buy branded MP3 or cell phone, the chances that it is made in China is very high, China is more or less the factory of the world now.

From my experience, Chinese mp4/mp3 players stop working easily, leaving you with many unhappy customers.

Extremely low quality electronics and support is all your headed for by dealing with 95% of Chinese companies.

That is if it's a REAL company, view the hundreds of thousands of fakes here: FraudPayments.com

There is a reason why they are so cheap...shoddy components and poor workmanship.

That is one of the rare high quality electronic manufacturers, besides that, the Ipod factory has been compared to a sweatshop with no breaks or an end to your work day.

Personally I wouldn't buy them. They lack quality and in most cases are really ugly. I prefer to buy something that won't break after a few days of use.

I bought a cellphone manufactured in China (It was a clone of Nokia handset and its name was NOKLA :p) and it worked really good for 4-5 months and then it started creating problems like hanging, restart etc., so IMO, these are not worth it. Btw, it doesn't mean that all Chinese items are bad but only those which are C category probably.

I think if you use them for a short period they're perfect. The only thing that annoys me is the firmware. It's completelly rubbish.

They break easily, and usually last for about 2-3 months.
