I run an affiliate program for a prescription based pharmacy and looking at starting another for a non prescription pharmacy. I'm interested to know what affiliates involved in this space look for in a pharmacy affiliate program? Price? Cookie length? Conversion rate? Commission? Avg sale amount? Data feed? I think I could squeeze a 30% commission with lifetime cookies. Conversion rate is currently 8% which from what I have seen compares well to most other pharmacies. Our average sale is $144. The other thing I wanted to know is do you use the sites which are often provided or do you simply use your affiliate link on your own sites? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Pharmacy affiliate programs have the advantage that customers usually buy the product regularly. So there is possible to build up residual income. However, I don't recommend lifetime cookie as the only way for tracking. If somebody refers a client you should assign his account to the affiliate who referred this client and pay him commission for re-orders. This will motivate webmasters to work with your affiliate program.
I run a good non script herbal product line. We pay from 40-50% commission depending on volume. Right now is a perfect time to sell diet products for new years resolutions.
