What do you look for in a Blogger Forum?

Hi Everyone,

As many of you know I run Bloggeries Blogger Forum.

I would like to know what you look for in a blog forum. I'm trying my best to continually grow the resource and would love everyone's input. There weren't many blogger forums around however others are popping up. Mine has been around since 2006 and I'd like to make it the premiere one on the web.

Any thoughts or suggestions for what you look for would be appreciated. If you feel like joining please do and say hello!

allow people to somehow promote their blogs and get more exposure, maybe I should talk with you

 

Yeah contests would be fun. Like a writing contest and than you could give the winner free ads or something? Or free directly listings.

Or you can do a who can post the most/best (not just rubbish of course) type of contests to help boost post/thread counts.

Overall I like the forum a lot! I think it just needs more of us bloggers there. I like the focus, sometimes webmaster forums like DigitalPoint only discuss the icing on the cake, while a blogging forum will really dig in there and get on topic.

I think your forum just needs more exposure, I didn't know it was out there. And I've seen all these other sites popup for blogging forums too in just this week. Looks like everybody is trying to jump into that market.

 

Send me a PM anytime We have an area where blogger's can show off their blog. Basically give themselves a shameless plug for traffic and exposure. If people like it they often give feedback.

 

I agree with you I need to do something regarding a contest also maybe fix the banner up top to somehow mention that contest because there are lots of guests.

Regardinging your second point I agree niche boards are great when you are into that niche. I post alot on a golf forum when I want to talk about golf; apart from that I don't visit but when I want to talk about golf I know where to go.

Finally regarding lots popping up... Tell me about it! Bloggeries has had the blog community since December 2006 but just recently a whole tone have spawned up. I think some are started by a group of people as it's easier to get the ball moving with constant interaction. Either way this sudden influx of forums has made me realize I need to do some aggressive marketing asap.

Yeah, I agree to. Like prizes some T Shirts with your site's logo will be cool.

 

Would anyone actually wear a shirt of some forums logo if they just joined lol? Or ever?

Contests are always good ideas though.

 

yeah contests with prizes would sure be cool. maybe some rank system where if u win you climb up a level towards the mega prize at the end of a year etc???
