    I enjoy both bands, but if I had to chose one, it would be Guns N Roses (at least Pre-Mid 90's era).

    They've both made great music in the past but if I could only ever listen to one of them it'd have to be GNR. Appetite for Destruction is the epitome of a classic rock album

    Love them both!! GNR 'Civil War', 'November Rain', & 'Patience' are some of my favorites of all time. Metallica's 'One' is probably one of my all time faves as well - the live version. If I absolutely had to choose...hmm...probably Metallica. Or GNR. Or Metallica. Shoot I can't. ;)

    I liked both of them back in the day. I have a lot more respect for Metallica though. I respect the fact that they took a risk and changed their look and style, while for the most part stayed true to their sound. I've started more than a few heated debates with diehard fans of their early days when I bring this up!

    I like both. Metallica is the sailor of metal music but Guns n Roses is so unique and created so many great compositions.
