    Hi Guys -

I had someone from here set a blog up for me, I had a template and hosting they loaded and put the plugins on the site for me - when he finished I see that he put his name and a link to his site at the bottom of both of my sites -this is really annoying, I think if he asked me I would have done it, but because he just assumed it was ok - well, what do you think -

If they were sites he setup for free, then that's find I'd say.
If you paid him, and/or it was on sites he didn't work on, heck no.

I would understand if he made the template, or created the site, but all he did was upload wordpress and add the themes I gave him and the plugins -looks like he is saying the template or site is his. Anyway, I just think it is a little rude and presumptuous to stick a link on someone elses site, on the front page.

If he didn't design it or develop the code then I think it was out right rude not to ask.

I am a developer and I wouldn't do it. If you want I can remove it for you. But it will cost you a link to my site muhahahahahaha (was joking)

As stated above, he did a simply blog install / skinning and didn't ask your permission to put his links up. I would remove them if it was me just based on those facts alone.

As you stated, if he would have asked then that would be a completely different story.

Well, I think the point is the person should have ask permission from you. Even if the set up was for free or not, considering that you own the site, your permission should have been acquired. Unless from the beggining it was part of your arrangement that it will be free and it was agreed in advance. It is somewhat unethical and perhaps an invasion of your privacy.

I still think that the proper thing to do is to ask permission from you first. But you could just remove his link after a month or so.

I would say he should have asked you before doing this job for you  Added a link to his site at the bottom of both of your sites without your knowledge is really not a good thing if he/she is a professional.

    Go to your FTP

    public_html > wp-content > themes > name of theme

It will be in footer.php or sidebar.php (or something very similar) If you use a text editor you can prob hit ctrl + F and type in the url and it will find it in the code. Take it out job done.

And $100 for 2 installs I will do it next time if you want ;)

That guy, whoever he might be in Dp, is a disgrace to other webmasters. What he did was actually steal a link from your site even after overcharging you by one thousand percent :(

You want to try to list his name in DP? So, no one will ever need his service again? - due to his notoriety?
