Hello everyone. I have been a long time reader of this forum. Just got real serious with building a site recently. Due to a low back injury yada, yada. I am not a code or design guy, but I am very competent on networks and server technologies. So keep this in mind when you look at the site. My GF and I decided to focus on a saturated market, the jobs & employment industry. Except we are a bit different. Since the employment sector is changing & A LOT of people are looking for jobs. The move to social media and other sources is showing promise. We have setup a social type network, integrated with SAAS ppc job board, job postings, and ad sense. We combine social media, and community type features, editorials, career coaching, and blogs etc. You get the picture somewhat. I integrated SAAS from the KickApps social engine, the indeed job network, and the simply hired network. Our visitors can search from over 5 million job listings. Upload video/standard resumes. We also plan to integrate an employers section so that companies can use the platform to post jobs & attract candidates. The SAAS helps Im not even putting a ding in my server, My highest traffic to date is 1500 uv. in a day Cost me 90M in data traffic. I made $40 or so in revenue. All from Craigsl list R and R postings. lol My goal is to get traffic from organic results. But i have my work cut our for me. I get quite a bit from CL just posting a few links a day. The domain was purchased in April 2008 on a whim. I was buying domains just to resell, and i hit on aplace4people.com. Hmmm sounded kind of catchy. I might want to build something with it sometime. It sat for a while then fast Forward to to late August, when my girlfriend loses her staffing job. We decide to use the domain for a business venture, we launch hosting service and a 1 page front end and waited for an index update. Google had already indexed the cash parking page i had for it at godaddy. That took a while until a post on Craigs list showed up around mid October with us in the subject, We were re-indexed the next day. On November 1st I did a site redesign and made 5 pages of content. started building more forum signature links, Posting on Craigs list has gotten me close to 100 backlinks within a short time. I have several hundred forum posts indexed in google under a couple of different screen names. I updated all my signatures which turned a lot of them into backlinks. Anyway the site is at PR3. Also our sub domained job board is a PR2 as of the recent update. I need some help with design, layout and user interface. I feel i can get this to a PR5 or PR6 within a few months and and have a huge traffic beast considering the volume of the search phrases we are targeting. Since i can't quite yet post live links yet. just look google a place 4 people you'll find us. put jobs in front of the domain name and whammy. thats our first job board. Peace Mike
