To quote something I read on another forum: "Hi, nice to meet you, my name is Bob. Disclaimer: this is a paid conversation for Procter & Gamble, but please note that all opinions I will express in the next 15 minutes are completely my own, and have not been influenced by the advertiser."
Is this really what we're going to be reduced to? Seriously?

WOW, well there goes the selling point of many 3rd party affiliates who pride themselves on a discreet way of being an affiliate with a cookyless link.

It really is. I guess only time will tell what's actually going to happen with this one.

this reminds me of a different quote -- as seen on a bar of soap "directions: use like soap".
    i don't know why.

but I can see a few reviews online swaying people to one brand over another, so this might be a good thing.

It bothers me. And from what I see on those blogs, alot of people are talking about it like it's already law. Is it?

If it comes to pass, I think it's going to take some serious... concentration... to get used to it.

Well if that comes to pass...use it to your advantage. Many people online will research the product anyway. Off the top of my head I typed up something on another forum.....(copying here to save the typing again lol).

If it comes to pass....blah. I see the FTC idea as just one more way to advertise. In fact, I could even (off the top of my head again) say "This website is 100% compliant with the FTC guidelines for affiliate marketing". Hehehe....why not? If I can plug an official place like that using their own words and regulation to my advantage...all I can say is "thanks for the extra marketing idea".
