    Looks nice.
Now that you have posted it on a Webmaster forum , I highly recommend that you make sure that your spam and splog filters are set properly.

Neat Idea and Nice name: MyFirstBlog....resonates with newbies...

But the AD placement seems a bit awkward....any better placement would be appreciated...I mean make it blend with the design...

thanks for the feedbacks guys, yeah i intended to make this a first step for new bloggers. ive integrated a captcha checking plugin at registration , not sure if that is enough. about the adsense i placed it there because i want the page to look clean (at least for the top half of it) but ill try to tweak it later . now im just trying to get more bloggers to signup at the site. cheers!

I can probably guess that since you have posted it here, that you already have a few splog registrations...default theme...spam article with links through out...disposable email address.
Either that, or they'll create an account and let it sit for a while and then come back when they think you aren't paying attention and drop a spam article on it.
Or they'll just put some links in the sidebar.

Just be careful and stay on it. Spammers are pretty stupid people, they don't really have many new tricks, because there aren't any, but they are relentless.

bcos here, you can get way more themes and plugins than there. and also im not as strict as them on the rules over here.

Other reasons why people use niche blogging networks over free blogger and wordpress is:

Networking: By blogging with a niche community, you get more exposure and interaction with peers.
Anti-Spam: We all know blogger is loaded with spam and kids. Some people don't want to blog on network loaded with garbage sites.
Options: Believe it or not, just like the OP, a good network administrator can offer more themes and options than both WP and Blogger combined
Admin: You can set the rules according to what is needed in your community, instead of a "One rules for all" approach like other networks.
Community: These are more than just blogging platforms, they have many possible integrated functions for the user, that Blogger ad Wordpress do not have.

and that is actually just the beginning.
    Blogging has evolved.
