What do you expect out of an article directory?

As the main promoter for the article-gems.com article directory I'd like to know what people like in an article - directory?

    What do you rate?

    PR,
    Number of Authors,
    Traffic,
    Ease of Use,
    Friendly Editors?????

Any thoughts would be greatly received.

Categories and subcategories with well-organized topics are always welcome from both writers and surfers, along with easy navigation.

In my humble opinion pagerank is what does not matter at all unless your are focusing on selling links and advertising, but rank comes along over time anyway.

    Hi, alstar70,[IMG]

Congratulations on the initiative you are working on.:)

I, personally, find of exclusive importance the points below:

1/Structure and organization, not to forget simple but still well-designed website
    - without that criterion satisfied I don't give it a closer look at all.

    2/Professional writing in abundance

Yes, I know it doesn't sound concrete - what we call professional writing seems to be a matter of subjective assessment. But still professional writings from my point of you is not that hard to distinguish from all the pretenders around.

3/Number of writers (and respectively, articles) matter

It is not of main importance. Anyway, I love it when in a directory I find more than a single writer promoting themselves.:) I am joking, of course. However, when you see a directory which is getting more and more submissions every day, it is always a positive point.

    4/Friendly editors

The atmosphere of warm collaboration is a very pleasant feel to me.

As refers to Page Rank, Pat Gael has said it right - page rank comes along the way, so I don't find it that important.

Have the best of your day today,

    Turbulence

Most of the times people are only concerned with PR.

That is the problem because pagerank is not synonym of quality content.

Work on provide your visitors with a satisfactory experience from both writing and edition front and you will succeed ;)
