What do you do?

I found a registrar which a coupon allows me to get free .com domains in a way that really shouldn't be allowed. However, it's the registrars fault.

Is it legit to register them, or should I just report this to the registrar?

Your help is much appreciated. I will not list the name of the registrar at the moment.

Well it depends what you plan to do with the domains. Free for the first year is great unless you have problems when you want to renew or transfer a domain. Ipower is one who offered $2.95 domains but then if you want to sell the domain, it is a hassle and their renewal price if the same as everyone else.

If the coupon is not legit and they find out later, they may take back the name. I would use it if everything else checks out but be careful if not.

Okay, i'll try to clear it up. Let's say the coupon is suppose to be used with an email package, but the coupon works with buying a privacy protector?

It's legit since the coupon works, but it's a mistake by the registrar.
BTW, above is not the case, but it's the same scenario.

they'll probably find out and charge you the difference later.
IMHO, it's not worth the hassle to maybe save a few bucks.

I use paypal so it's pretty hard to chargeback, unless the file a paypal complaint.

Anyone elses comments? I'm curious if I should take advantage of this.

Domains are really cheap. Less than the price of a fast food meal.
Isn't it better to just break open the wallet and spend the 8 bucks if you have any doubts, than to run the risk of loosing something over such a insignificant amount, just to beat the system?
