Hi everyone what do you with all the stuff you no longer want that’s still useable ? I’m talking about everyday items like furniture, beds, sofa’s chairs, TV’s, stereos, radios, washing machines, clothing that’s out of fashion. Do you recycle them on websites like freecycle or send it to the tip so it will end up in a landfill site ? I have been an active member of freecycle for several year and have teemed up with some friends and we’ve just launched a new website http://www.cyro.co.uk where you can share any ideas on recycling, up-cycling , energy reduction, or anything that’s eco-friendly, green related you’d like to share with the world. Please free to join and post your articles and green businesses and if your in the UK you can also recycle your unwanted stuff for free. I would love to hear what you do with your unwanted stuff and see all of you joining the Cyro Community. Thanks Mike
Great idea! But here in Belgium we got a shop for that stuff, you call, they take it from you and put it in their shop for sale for a small price. It's actually good for people who just bought a new house or people who have no job anymore and should spend less money on new stuff.
Companies (or webmasters) should also use more used paper IMO. So much paper gets wasted because people use a complete new sheet of paper for a stupid draw. Why don't use a sheet of paper twice and throw it away when it's full? Helps the earth and saves money
If you can have a garage sale by all means do it so you can use the money to advertise your recycling website, thus allowing you to disseminate your green message and reach more people everywhere.
Bambu, we have looked at doing a few 50/50 sales where sellers get half the money form items sold to help raise funds and raise awearness. We are also putting up some posters and some are doing local leaflets drops. It does take time to build a community, we welcome any suggestions. Mike
