Niche is food. Yes, there are many food forums I will be posting in. I will probably buy links in them no matter what else I do. Can I ask, how long do the links need to stay the same to count in link juice? Do they have to be permanent?

Primary keywords are: cajuns, crawfish, cajun recipes. Not very comThat is new to me. Any links for more info?

    Thanks!!

    My advice as follows :

    1- Buying site links/ blogroll links --->
Get links that are relevant to your site content.

2- Buying articles to submit to article directories --->
Write your own articles to build your online reputation and submit them. Put links within the content and get in-content links to your site which is highly recommended.

3- Buying sig links in appropriate forums --->
Now is SEO2.0, forum signature links only help to boost new website, it does not help much in PR or SERPs

4- Buying and running xrumer -->
    N O = NO

5- Paying an seo firm -->
Find a proper one. Understand how they do it. Make sure you do not get BH firm to do it for you. Read this : Beware Of Guaranteed Ranking

    6- Buying directory listings --->
Although it does not seem to work well but you can still go for it as long as it is one way link and cheap. So far no information on Google penalizing paid or free directories submission.

7- Going to the casino to see if I can turn it into $5,000,000! --->
Try it and let us know the result? CHeerz

Let me offer you another solution. Spend some time reading through forums posts, SEO blogs, SEO news and articles. Try it on your site with D.I.Y SEO and work your way up. It is interesting and you can achieve the sense of achievements.

Thank you so much for the very well thought out responses!!

1- Links from sites with human traffic would be even neater. Hard to find. :O(

2- You are right. It gets so boring though. lol

3- I was wondering what kind of link juice it gives. My guess is that the biggest boost in it is in indexiing speed. Just a guess.

4- I'm curious. What are your fears with xrumer?

5- Will read your thread. Thanks!

6- I guess it can't hurt to try.

    7- lol

I can't tell you how much time I have spent reading here (and in much darker forums) over the last several weeks. I am almost obsessed with conquering this seo thing. Still though, I want some help with this one. Also, I still have so much to learn.

If I knew how to frickin' give reputation I would do it (can you tell me?). Great response, and very appreciated.

    ;)

    NEVER pay an SEO firm,

If you know a guy who is good, and wants to do you a favor then give him your money, but paying an seo firm. You would have to be insane !!!!

I think I understand your fears. Have a bad experience. I certainly see how it's very possible.

There a a couple of gurus here on DP that I would not hesitate to hire.

I am not afraid of using xrumer. I just do not wish to ruin my online reputation of my name or the website.
Automated link spamming blogs and forums will only get blog and forum owners talking. Remember your ip address and website is there for others to see when they post on spammers list. Getting your reputation ruined for the sake of SEO is not worth a dollar. So what if you can get visitors to your site? Remember they are humans and they do research on a particular website before purchasing anything from them.

Perhaps we are having a definitions distinction, but I would describe your concerns as fears. Very valid ones too, I think.

Thanks for that input. It would be interesting to know how others feel about it.

    :O)

I would go with paying an expert seo firm. You could always discuss the expected results with them. Make sure to ask for "money back guaranteed" if they fail to do what you want.

Permanent in-content links are the way forward. Forum, article and blog marketing.

    Gtull,

    I see this way...

    1. Don't give your money to any SEO company as, later, they will ask for more... :)

I think that SEO is much more than "an important part" of the online industry. Any SEO work has to be honest and accurate.
If a company take over your site you will never know if they really will do they VERY BEST in order your site to become well-ranked and relevant in your niche.

    But...

If you find an individual who you TRUST and who, in your opinion, could do a HONEST work for you, go ahead.
In my opinion, in SEO there's no room for corporate approach, there's no room for industry-like work.

    2. The result of any SEO campaign has to look like an organic SEO growth...

Yes, this should be your starting point. Just think about, how could your site grow in order this growth to look really natural for Search Engines?

Buying links from other topic-relevant sites? ONLY if the following condition can be respected: the link you'll buy to be a contextual one. Yes,
only a contextual link can be interpreted by Search Engines as natural.

Buying site-wide links? NO, NEVER! Why? Because, for Search Engines, they will NEVER look like natural links.

There's much more to be said... these are only a few thoughts...

I would like to recommended you option no. 5.

It would be the great deal and if you are thinking about option no. 7 than option no. 5 will let you that place with great success of your business.

    Thanks and Regards,

Very well thought out response. Thank you!!!

I agree that organic link building is the way to go. The closer you get to making it look real, the more likely that your links will last a very long time, as they will not be discounted by future algo changes. At least that makes sense to me.

I would never trust a "company like" seo firm. I would trust a few "individuals" that are extremely good at what they do. The big companies are largely scams, or that has been my exposure.

    ;)

buy a 1 big PR/Traffic link. It usually doesn't help when you buy a bunch of little ones.

    You're welcome! :)

"I would never trust a "company like" seo firm. I would trust a few "individuals" that are extremely good at what they do."

Exactly. Basically, this was my suggestion.

One more aspect: in my opinion, a S.E.O. professional must be able to tell you [to his/her client] every detail of his/her work
and NOTHING should be hidden, as even a small mistake can do harm...

The buyers of links were not penalized. The links just got discredited. Am I wrong?
