What do you do when your blog has fallen victim to an autoblog?

I noticed the posts on one of my more popular blogs are being syndicated to some autoblog targeted at a similar niche.

Does this really matter? Will it affect my own rankings at all? If this has potential to damage my rankings, can I DMCA the host?

If it matters, I'm using WordPress, perhaps there's a way to deny RSS to particular hostnames?

    Thanks.

As long as they put links to your blog, it will increase your blog's SERps position.

I got this problems before and posted the question in this forum, they all answer me the same, if they put link to your site, then you have more links to your site.

It is not a bad thing to have a link to your site as long as the page linking is optimized for the same keywords as yours.

They aren't linking to me, though. The articles are just copied word-for-word.

No, it's an autoblog. Unless they're pasting all my shit the exact second I publish it.
    I'll email the owner.

I have reported people to their hosting companies and their registrar for such as that...(if you can get the whois data on them)...A lot of times, the site owner would lose their hosting account and all content associated with it.

Fortunately it has never happened to me so I have never had to deal with this, but what can you do? What's the best way to go about it? And will it actually have any effect on the auto blog?

You can prevent the blog from being syndicated by turning off the RSS feeds. Most autoblogs go looking for RSS.

I have been seeing more and more of this lately. It seems that people are not afraid to try anything. If there is no link back, then it is simply duplicate content. Too much duplicate content can in turn hurt your search engine rankings over time. This is debated among many, but ideally what would happen when the search engines find duplicate content is that they will look to see who had the content first and then remove the other site from the search engine index. Many of these auto-blogs will hide the link back as a tiny permalink or something barely visible. Some site administrators do not seem to mind, but others do not want it there. Taking action is a highly individual decision, but I would DMCA the host and contact advertisers if there are any.
