Curious what other people are doing? YPN Only has 100 channels.
Do you use Adsense's channels some some pages or what? thanks...

I guess you compensate the sites that absolutely don't need a unique channal by joining them together, to make room for the sites that absolutely require a unique channal.

You might try calling YPN and explaining your unique situation and why you think you deserve mroe then 100 channals. If you are a high income publisher, and have been following all the rules, they may make an exception for you.

Even though i do not own 100 sites etc i have thought about this before. I think that YPN should have a request form for anything that you need "more" of...

They also have limited targeting categories...Somewhere in YPN's "portal" i saw something saying you can inquire for more targeting categories.

    Later,
    Harrison

P.s. wentworth, do you really own 100 sites?

If you have several pages on your sites and several ads per page, the 100 will run out sooner or later.

So if you have a single website that has 50 pages, that means you are using 50 channels?

He is asking if you use a different channal for each ad unit on your sites, as apposed to a unique channal for each site.

If you are using a different channal for each ad unit you should consolidate by making all ad units on a particular site in one channal.

    That is your opinion.

I only asked a question at the start. Thank you.

so, if I understand this correctly....if each page on your website is different in content, then you are using a different channel for each page?

So let me get this straight: you're channeling every single ad placement for every single page on your site? WHY???

    wentworth,

when you run out of channels, you need to rethink your channel strategy. this has happened to me many times and i've had to reorganize my channel strategy. 1 thing that i do is mix them up. you do not have to delete a channel in order to use another, you just have to deactivate it, leaving the channel id intact. so i alternate them and monitor their performance outside of ypn. im sure you use a tracking software, so you can still see how your deactivated channel is performing, even though ypn wont give you details. When i see a deactivated channels performance change drastically, i can reactivate the channel to once again, see what is really going on.

another thing you can do is not use a channel and use the reporting urls for additional tracking beyond 100 or for tracking individual pages, directories, or sites. or create groups of tracking. that depends on how you use the channel (to each their own), whether you are tracking a page, an ad unit or your ad units on a page.

Hope this helps, its just my opinion on what i do. take it for what its worth.

that is not what he said.

his point was that if you have different page designs on each site, and multiple page designs per site, you could eventually run out of channels... which is why google gives you 200 channels, if i recall correctly.

You don't need a new channal for each page design that you have.

LOL. What, you can read minds now, danimal? Here's what he said:

That means he IS using one channel for every ad placement and every page on his site. And since he hasn't bothered to come back to "correct" anything, that means there is no error in the assumptions made regarding his use of channels.

No it means I don't care to disclose everything I'm doing...
Do you see the word "I" anywhere in the quoted text?

And unless somebody has seen my YPN account, they can't speak for me...
I asked question. That's it. This is not like confession where you tell everything....
