I crushed some discs snowboarding a few years ago, I am now out of major pain and have found the best way to keep this way is to go for at least a two mile walk every day (I also have inserts in my shoes so that my back is straight when I walk). Also I use a dining table chair with a straight back when I am at the computer.
Thats why I posted this thread in first place. Like i said earlier, my back have some limit and by doing those exercises I can extend that limit to couple of more hours but thats it. So was just looking at something that might have slipped from my mind - like getting massage from your spouse is a brilliant idea IMO. You guys are really smart.

Forgot my wheelie thingie. I once told my co-worker about the wheelie thingie, and she said it sounded great. She wondered if it would eliminate or reduce here 'need' to visit the ($60/hour) chiropractor. She was going to ask him. I replied, what do you think he's going to say?
so sorry dude for not adding it. new addition: wheelie thing actually i have seen ads of "wheelie thingie" on the tv and it looks kind of lot of hard work just rolling it up and down. i wonder if it works. since u have insisted so much i think i will give it a try in near future. thanks again
I have a back problem that sometimes occures. If I get it is it usually a 24 hour thing, and I have trouble breathing from it because it is a sharp pain. But when I get it I usually go to sleep.
Prevention... Don't try to shrug 470 pounds without a weight lifting belt, or straps... Took my back out almost 2 weeks ago, still killing me..
Acupuncture is scientifically proven (by MRI scans) to relieve pain - aslong as you do it as you are supposed to and twist the needles when inserted. You can actually see the way the brain 'de-activates' pain. No-one knows why the twisting of the needles is a specific requirement for the de-activation (although there are many theories) but without twisting it simply doesn't work. So if you're able to find a good local acupuncture 'therapist', if the pain is dogging your life, give it a whirl. There's a high chance it will work. Usual costs for a sesssion are $50-70. Personally I thought it was a load of 'all in the mind' crap before watching actual experiments carried out by a team of British scientists and phsycisists where they were able to prove with the aid of Britains most powerful MRI scanner that the twisting effect is actually the key, and which does interesting things in the part of the brain that percieves pain. GADOOD reminds me- I used to go to a Naprapath for treatment a few times a month. I highly recommend that...especially over a Chiropractor.
I'm sure you could find some good info on Google about it. But basically a Naprapath manipulates your muscles, joints and ligaments (all of your connective tissue) in an effort to get them all balanced and aligned properly. The doctor I go to also uses electro-stimulation, hot/cold packs and ultrasound. If you have back problems and have a naprapath in your area, I highly recommend going to them. Some insurances will cover it. However, the guy I go to charges just $60 per one hour treatment.
