Use facebook. One of the more effective ways of promoting your blog is to use a site everyone either loves or hates Facebook. The social networking site allows you to create a page to promote your blog or business and it’s completely free. MakeUseOf has one and it’s doing very well.

After creating a Facebook page tied to my blog, what is the easiest way to promote my Faceback page? I understand there is a limit of how many friends I can have, but I'm not sure what the limit is.

Social media like Twitter is important to me, also digg, delicious and stumbleupon. Referrals are my biggest source of traffic though from other blogs writing about the articles on my blog. Search engine traffic is growing over time as good anchor text is being built and my links are spreading throughout the web.

The best way I have found to disperse links is through guest posting, which leads to a trickle down effect, and then commenting/forums. Article marketing is also great and you can do this with ezine, associated content, squidoo, hubpages, articlebase, goarticles, and a variety of other directories. Just be sure to use quality directories that other people actually use. If you are going to spend time writing the article, or paying for it... make sure it is put in the right place.

Utilize the rss/atom feed from your blog and submit it to rss directories like feedfury, feedage etc. Find some blog directories, this will help to. Here is a good place to promote your blog: http://www.mybloglog.com

Personally I gain good traffic for my blog posts via Digg, SU, Folkd and by replying to on-topic questions in Yahoo Answers.

Right now, I'm promoting my new blogs at several article directories and web 2.0s.

I'm thinking of submitting my blog posts at digg too, soon.
