What do you do to attract end users?

    I know not all of you are running a directory ONLY for the search engines, right? ;)

    So what do you do in order to attract the end user and make your directory something worth visiting and/or searching thru?

    Let´s share some good ideas! :)

    It is a concentrated focus when you have a
    Top Brand like 'FrogEngine'

    you have 2 points of entry for marketing
    1 The Directory
    2 The Brand

    And if you use a sophisticated marketing matrix then you attract global submissions and visitors

    Some marketing thought and planning needs to be added to the mix

    You switch and change the marketing between the 2 options

    Only one point of view for now :)

    The first thing I thought was the design too. But more like how the page looks to be attractive. You can attract people by, for example, offering good services, unique ideas, or special discounts.

    Forum submission is the best way to attract end user like DP it has thousand of members and lot of visitors daily. So try it!

    OP possibly meant what you do to your directory to make users coming back, not about marketing methods.

    But anyways , i usually put pizza,coke and other junk food on one hidden corner of the site to attract folks. But i try to keep content good, and right now aiming towards making it kinda niche directory and family friendly. Other than that i just use some hot (and unique) looking looks for directory ( i find then hot anyways others might not). And also keep ads down to minimum. Actually no ads on one of the directory at all :).
