Im submitting my post to Digg and other similar website. One way of gaining more visitors as i read on one of my ebook i've downloaded.
Firstly I will publish the post once I write it. I have already added some elements for the readers to share the posts to social bookmarking sites. I din't do it myself till now at least, only because I am lazy, but it a very nice idea. I will check the blog's performance in my google analytics account, so that I can get feedback on how well I wrote it and how should I do better. Now I guess I can forget it, as I do it.
After pulished of my post I do social bookmarking and update that post link on my social networking profile, it;s very easy
i've wrote a popular post lately and received lots of comments and spam to it :d and so i disable the comments because they're posting links to it. is this also wrong ?
Submitting to social bookmarking sites and also posting links to the article on twitter & facebook work well for me.
i recently wrote a post about this very topic http://tycoonblogger.com/promoting-your-blog/what-do-you-do-after-you-write-a-blog-post
i just move on to the next thing. you want to keep the quality up so new visitors who just came after the popular post will stick around and keep coming back.
i do social bookmarking after writing a new post, i add proper keywords to make them search able in search engines as well
I keep a list of sites and blogs that are interested in my content and ones that accept submissions and tips. When I write a good post I visit each of them and submit my post. Other bloggers are always looking for good content to write about and link to + it's a good way to get to know other bloggers in your category/industry.
