What do you consider the best way to get Google backlinks?

Hello All:

The thing that always amazes me about SEO is that everyone has their own theories about what works and what doesn't.

I have a very simple question that I would love to have a discussion about: what do you consider the most effective places to get backlinks that get counted by Google? What specific sites do you buy links on? Who do you try trading with? Do you do press releases?

Well I think good content is a given... beyond the great content, what else do you do?

I don't think you should use just one method. It's a lot better to have a mixture of different kinds of backlinks. That looks more natural, and it also protects you when Google devalues a certain type of link. It comes down to the old adage -- Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

 

My top 3 in order..

1. Article Marketing
2. Press Release
3. Personal Secret Can't Give This One Away

Then there is always social bookmarking, directories and so on.

You need to create good quality unique content. market it in forums and other blogs so other people will link you. In htat wa you will have super targeted links. and thats what googles loves. tageted links

 

Make a list of the url's of all your backlinks that haven't been indexed, then ping them, make them into an RSS feed using icerocket and submit that feed to a bunch of feed directories.

 

Check your competitor backlinks and try to get backlinks from those sites aswell, if they're not already linking to you.

 

Best way, I would say is to make authority backlinks and make it permanent. As the number of days the link stand increases your link will automatically counted. To me it is authority + relevancy + Permanent.

Hi, Check your competitors backlinks and then make strategies for link building. Otherwise article submission and blog posting and forums is the best tools for link building. google crawls all the links.

They said it all. The very best way to get google traffic is unique and very good content. If you write good content. Links will be coming to you. Use the social media to promote it. People will like your content and they will share it and link to it. Having One way links from them will surely push your site or blog up in serp and more traffic will come along.

 

That is the best thing to do. Try SEO Spyglass and find out where there links are and then copy the ones that you can.

 

Other than those already mentioned, here are a few more to add to the mix.

1. Guest blogger - offer to write a guest blog in an area related to your business in exchange for a backlink.
2. Press releases - if you have a newsworthy item get in touch with websites, magazines etc by sending a press release which may help get backlinks.
3. Competitions - competitions can be a great way to gain both traffic and links.

Use Google alerts on your keywords and look at the links those pages have. If Google thinks they are so powerful to specially promote them they just may have been doing the right thing.

Also of course everything else that has already been said.

 

I get a lot of good links from Google alerts.
