What do you feel someone has to make online to be considered making real money. $100/month, $500/month $5000/month or some other number

How would you measure if someone is successful at making money online. Curious to hear everyone's definitions of internet successful.

when you dont have to ask that question . . .
dont have to go into your day job . . .
and last but not least when you only invest 6 minutes a day online and that is just to check to see how much you have made through out the day.

All success principles and business owners would probably not look at the amount they are making online, but how much they want or need to make.

You define goals and associate those to a monthly income amount. Then you specify a date to when you would like to reach that goal. Define the work or all the tasks required to reach that goal for that date you specified.

It would also be good to consider the amount as profit not just revenue.

$0.01 per year. Do people make fake money?

What would I consider making a good amount of real money? Probably $2000 a month. That's all I spend while I'm in school, so that's all I'd need.

to me it would be an income not dependent on one revenue source and something no volatile or even subject ti the whim of Google ranking.

    ....

In the end if you can do all your work from your yacht in the mediterrean on a tuesday afternoon for 5 mintues you are a success :p

3k constantly would be considered as my 1st achievement. At this state I would feel free to live my quality life without thinking too much about money. And also the effort to biz should be lesser to maintain income.

I'd say if you're making more money than the average minimum wage in America, then you're making real money online.

But if you'll only making $1k a month, then its not much real money because you can't survive like that especially in today's society.

To me making "real" money would be anything that has an effect on your life, if I was making even $500 a month that would be "real" to me.

$10,000 per month, month after month without fail. It's no good to get $20K for 3 mths, then drop to $1K. Must be consistent income, month after month.

That is very sound business advice, most likely not popular with the get rich in 30 second internet millionaire but anybody seeking solid input and working towards a sustainable business plan, that was it.

the moment that he is making money online either that is small or big, I can call it as being successful. Some aren't making money online at all until they have given up.

I like the answers so far. I say that consistency is the key as well. If you're making enough money to pay some bills and make a positive impact on your financial situation, then, in my definition, you're doing pretty well with your online ventures. Doing it month in and month out, while continuing to grow your earnings is the challenge.

It would depend on the average wage in your country.

If you're already having a job in the offline world, and your online money is equal to or better than your offline job, you're doing quite well.
