I blog about the applications that i write mainly for computer science students and software developers in general. Seems to be getting good traffic lately as the blog gets around 600/800+ UV's and growing. Maybe that's also because i'm almost done with a few of my projects and people can't wait do download them but who knows.
I'm curious, to the people who are blogging in a general category (no specific niche), do you get a lot of traffic and what kind of money do you make/month off of ads?
My blog was inspired by Lifehacker, one day I read their site and I was like I can better than that. So I did
Mine is mostly random crap I am doing online or read about. Also I have one in the works for fitness.
My blog pretty much completely changed topics. I've done a major cleanup on it and even have a domain for it now instead of the the whole .blogspot.com Anyway, it's more of a tech and left-winged political blog now. I have another one in the works which will be highly political, but on one particular issue.
I teach middle school science and college history classes. My only blog at the moment is centered on a revolutionary approach that makes the classroom both effective and fun again for both the teacher and their students. The other teachers on my team have actually asked me if I could try and have a little less fun in class so the kids will shut up about how much more fun my class is than their, heh-heh!
Well the topics are pretty interelated. I mean, it's not some tech, some this, some that, it's all got a socio-economic undertone. I'm doing pretty well for myself thus far. Plus, I don't junk it up with a bunch of payperpost crap. It's pretty much all economic-based and highly focused.
I blog about my website, the things we do to make it popular, how we generate $8k/month, and all the problems that come along with it.. I don't blog about where I ate dinner last night, or my favorite airport bathrooms - and i NEVER post personal rants. the blog also has no advertising..
I have two blogs One where I write reviews and all the stuffs about data recovery and data recovery software, the other one is about latest tech news and covers everything including blogging, google, gadgets etc.
My blogs focus's mostly on webmaster topics such as design, layout and graphics. I also do reviews of other peoples sites.
I blog about what I did yesterday. If I went diving I will say what I did, how good it was and provide pics, just to keep family and friends in the loop. Then during the working week I blog about interesting articles I have read, domains I have bought and sold and also comment on the latest news from around the world. Web-Master
Tearabite also has an ebook on his site about how he built his business on the web. It is VERY much worth the price- free, unless that has changed. It is well written, and really made me feel as though I could build a worthwhile web presence myself. Check it out through his links.
Another one for the Tearabite fan club. I have a pathetic little 'webcam' blog that never really caught on...
Same as most people, making money online. Though I don't try to make most of my money through my blog directly, it just documents my other efforts. I also have a blog to try and get referrals for the site Yuwie.
I like to blog about three month old topics just kidding,, I just blog about my life, and maybe some tech news here and there I don't think anyone reads them..lol and I don't really care
I strongly suggest something besides Yuwie. Yeah you can make money with it, but in a month not even enough to feed your dog for a day. I suggest other programs, PM for information on those... or just click my middle signature. I'm a member of Yuwie too, but never log on. Maybe in 2025 I'll have earned enough for a check and I'll get a random check in the mail... that'd be great.
