Hello, I'm David and I'm trying to make my own social network. In other to make it "interactive" I started this blog: myownsocialnetworkproject.blogspot.com I'm discovering that blogger isn't the best for me now a days and I want to start my own website (Of course I know how to that because I'm already creating my own social network xD). I'm thinking of hosting it at host-gator for 4 dollars a month. I'm also want to make more tutorials by now on like these: myownsocialnetworkproject.blogspot.com/p/how-to-create-and-build-website-basics.html I'm only want to make 4 dollars a month so I could pay my host so that's not the problem. But on this website (and way more) I see people talking about their blog getting 4k visitors a day and making 4000 dollars a month. And most times it's from multiple blogs, but how many blogs? And I never know what they do and that's why I want you to fill in this form. I'm just wondering how people are getting so much money with a blog. So pure curiosity: What is your name of you blog / what is a link? What is your blog about? How often do you make new posts? Are you doing this by your own or with a little "team"? How many visitors do you get a day and a month? How much money do you make? Do you have more blogs than 1? - If yes, could you just tell me for every single one: 1. What is the blog about? 2. How offten do you make new posts? 3. How many visitors a day and a month? 4. How much money do you make (average)? Thank you for filling in this form or comment at this post. David
The first thing you should know is that bloggers lie. They lie like frat boys talking about how many women they've had. Sure, there are plenty of people making money with their blog, but it's not always from JUST ad revenue. Sometimes they sell other products and services and the blog is just a promotion and marketing tool. The easiest way to tell if a blogger is lying about how much money they make is to look at the blog. If it looks like crap and the content is poorly written, they are either lying or they have some kind of click fraud scam going. The second thing is, you aren't going to make that kind of money using all free blogger stuff. And you aren't going to build a successful Social Network with $4 a month hosting. You need to use the right tools for the job. If you just want to make enough to get by and pay for hosting, then you should be able to squeak out $4 blogging on a paper bag. I don't blog outside of business stuff anymore, so I don't have any answers to your questions because I don't blog for ad money or affiliate links anymore. I usually blog as a tool to promote business, or to inform clients. When I did blog regularly, it was everyday and it was because I was interested in the subject and wanted to build a portal of information that no one else was providing. I didn't start a blog without a purpose because I thought a blog was a good way to make money. I wanted to start a portal of information and a blog was the best way to do it. I keep saying this, but a blog is not the business. The business is the information or the content. People keep looking at having a blog first, and then coming up with what to blog about second. That's backwards and why most people don't make a dime and have crappy blogs. A blog is simply a way to publish your information. But first you have to have information to publish. And it needs to be something that people give a crap about and it needs to be presented professionally.
Thank you for your comment! And of course I'm not going to host my social network on a 4 dollar plan. But my blog that is getting about 5 visitors a day. And I also though sometimes that people are lying because of the layout of there site and the content (only updated once a week etc.). But still I see some good revenues at forum > google > Adsense > reports and stats
There are also a lot of people that just have squeeze traps set up. They basically spend a lot of time on SEO and possibly even Adwords to direct as much traffic as possible to a site that only has one purpose and that is to get people to click ads. If you can strike the right balance there, you can make money. It's not because you have a great blog, it's just becuase you know how to work the system and hijack readers to your MFA (made for adsense). Even though it may be built on WordPress of Blogger, it's not exactly blogging. When I think of a successful blogger, I think in terms of someone who attracts readers based on the knowledge or entertainment and their talent for presenting it and marketing skills. You aren't popular if people have no choice. You are popular because they seek you out. But it's still money, right?
Hello davidbonting I blog about personal stuff and opinions on politics, I also have some TV series reviews and travel photos. I have 500 visitors/day average. I have had other blogs but it's funny how my personal complains make more money. Good luck!
