http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-trekkie.htm is this against the adsense TOS? but i just read again the official adsense blog said that: Can I place small images next to my Google ads? We ask that publishers not line up images and ads in a way that suggests a relationship between the images and the ads. If your visitors believe that the images and the ads are directly associated, or that the advertiser is offering the exact item found in the neighboring image, they may click the ad expecting to find something that isn't actually being offered. That's not a good experience for users or advertisers. Publishers should also be careful to avoid similar implementations that people could find misleading. For instance, if your site contains a directory of Flash games, you should not format the ads to mimic the game descriptions. any comments? coz i think this kind of adsense implementation is effective...
I think it's effective too. Although you have lined the image up with the ad unit I don't think it's misleading at all - just clever optimisation. I think this is safe. The big problem arises when you enclose the image and ad unit in the same frame. Let's see what the others have to say.
I'm looking at your AdSense code, which looks like: <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"; google_ad_output = "js"; google_feedback = "on"; google_max_num_ads = 4; google_ad_type = "text_image"; google_ad_channel = "297"; display_url = 0; //--> </script> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js'></script> Code (markup): And that of one of my clients: <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"; google_ad_width = 336; google_ad_height = 280; google_ad_format = "336x280_as"; google_ad_type = "text"; //2007-01-14: Snowboard Forum New google_ad_channel = "8744572832"; google_color_border = "FFFFFF"; google_color_bg = "FFFFFF"; google_color_link = "0033FF"; google_color_text = "000000"; google_color_url = "B3B3B3"; //--></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script> Code (markup): Looks very different. Not sure what program you're in, but that isn't the normal code I'm used to with Google AdSense. But to answer your question, yes, the image looks okay and doesn't appear to break any TOS.
Okay, I get it now... that AdSense code isn't even genkied's... he/she was just asking if that sort of thing was okay. Of course it is... that's why they are wise geeks!
yup that isnt me heheheh im just amaze about the adsense placement... i will contact adsense support if i can also do that implementation.
