What do people look for?

What do people look for when buying forum advertising spots? I am wanting to sell 125x125 blocks of advertising spots on my forum.

Which stats should I concentrate on?

UV?
Members?
Page Rank?

You should concentrate daily traffic (UV). Members are also a plus point but remember that registered members click on ads very less as compare to the guests, so you should get as much traffic as you can.

I sold banner ads on my smsbucket forum for $5/month but now when the traffic has increased I can easily charge more.

Traffic, Traffic and Traffic that is the key to success. But hey, work on the content too. Fresh and interesting content will keep the visitors/members returning.

My goal for this website is to make 640 dollars a month.

5 Dollars a day through adsense.

5-10 ads spots at 50-100 dollars a month.

 

I look where number of posts being made each day, amount of members, and unique visitors.
