Hey guys, I've got a little question about PayPal...

For the countries labeled under "Send. Receive. Withdraw to a U.S. Bank Account or a card.", do they mean you can withdraw cash to a U.S bank account in the country, or in the USA?

That means if you are living in USA and have a USA bank account attached to your USA paypal account then you can withdraw your paypal funds through your USA bank attached to it.

It refers to a Bank Account which is opened in your name in the US. It does not refer to a US Dollar account in your country.

As you know, Paypal was started in the US and they can do ACH funds transfer to bank account in the US so they offer that option.

It means the bank has to be located in the US. They are referring to the bank and not the aspects like cash, etc..

But that would be a bit dumb....

Why would someone in the United Arab Emirates or other countries listed in that section have a bank account in the USA?

Maybe PayPal mean that they can withdraw to a US bank account located in your home country. For example, citibank. I need some more clarification please, and please tell me how you know.

No, definitely not a US Bank account located in your country because that would just be considered your local bank account. It did say US Bank account and it did not say US Dollar bank account, it makes a whole world of difference.

It is not dumb really. There are numerous foreigners who goes to the US to work and to study and while they are there, they maintain US bank accounts for their daily usage. Most that I know do not close their account when they return home and thus can use that account for withdrawing Paypal funds too.

This at least gives you an option to withdraw money too rather than giving you no options at all.

Go to your paypal account and do an Add Bank account and it would be clear as day as to the option.

Even though I don't want to believe you, I guess you're right. Ah well.... (I don't have a US bank account, only Canadian *not living in Canada*) :(

why ask if you don't believe? You seem to have your mind made up already. Which is a contrdiction in and of itself.

PayPal asks for a US Bank, any one can have a bank account in another country, for reason that is known or not known.

PayPal prefers US, because they are US and lighter load with currency conversions.

You misunderstood me. I do believe him, it's just that I don't want to.

You know, it's like when a loved one dies, you know it's true but you don't want to believe it.
