What do I use for City Guide website?

    I want to start a site that will serve as a user interactive repository of information on my city. That is a city guide where users can contribute. Somewhat like a wiki. But I want more attractive site than a wiki.

    What should I use? Joomla can achieve this?

    You could always check out tikiwiki; I haven't tried this myself, but I have heard only good things.

    There are a few "collaberative" type sites that you could use as a starting point and the customize... maybe a PHPNuke with custom modules or something.
