I'm responsible for everything digital (SEO, PPC, editorial, whitelabels etc etc) in my office however this has now stretched to everything technical as well, which I'm not that happy/confident with as it's not my background and it's not what I was employed to do but either way i now have to sort the issue. Basically my employer had a bust up with our original hosting company which meant we had to switch to a new provider so we have gone with Rackspace as they seemed to have the highest level of support and I'd heard very little negativity towards them. The problem I now have is the emails need migrating from the old server, which I was told had been done but now I've found out that apparently they have only been changed in PLESK not in noteworty, which means we could lose emails. The IP addresses need switching the DNS needs changing etc etc I am by no means qualified to do this and so I'd like to get someone in who knows what they are doing for a week or so or however long it takes to make the transition but I don't know what I'm looking for! Do I need a networker? Do I need a developer? I'm a digital marketeer not a techie can anyone help shed any light on the type of technical person I need for this job. I guess in the long run I'm going to need someone maintain the technical side of the site. Help
RackSpace and noteworthy techs will help you with this if you are moving to their service. That's why you pay them so much, so they can do stuff for you .
Hi, You are looking for a Systems Administrator. You can find many outsourcing companies such as BobCares, TouchSupport, etc. (This are just random companies I pulled off Google). Since you are with Rackspace you should be able to open a ticket with them and they will either do it for you as part of your plan or they will provide you with a quote to do the job.
Basically, you will need help in migrating the server and also possible server management service ... You need a server admin as what nick had said. -- joseph
