Hello, We are going to jump into the world of social media as part of our business plan. Do I need a personal Facebook account in order to get a business Facebook account? By that I mean must I set up a personal Facebook in order for me to have a Facebook page for my business. The reason I ask is becasue I don't want people 'from the past' to find out my Facebook page and attempt to contact me. Deduce what you would like here......and you are probably right! If you dont want your past friends or colleagues to contact you, then I would suggest you to open a new account and keep the friends limited to your own business. I hope you are aware of the difference between a personal account and a facebook business account.
I think you should make a new one. I make online shop to in FB and i make a new one, so other people won't know who are me. I think it's more free to do bussines
why do you need a new account for your facebook page? Facebook fan page for business is kind of different from facebook group. No one will know who is the admin for the previous. Unless you want to open a new facebook account and use that new account to communicate with your customer or whatsoever.

Yes - you need to have a personal profile before you can make a business page (often referred to as "fan page")
