What do i do?

    Hi guys,
    i set up an investment forum about 2months ago,but the forum is stagnant.the script is SMF 1.1.3
    How do i make the forum grow?

    Never really had the time to do much since i set it up.its an investment forum at www.pipspro.com
    i have at one point considered selling the name.how best can you advise me please.i really want to develp the forum,but looks like am outa my depth.

    You need to have a good budget and a lot of time to promote a forum. You need to get links on related niche sites. You can do this by either buying links or exchanging for them.

    You also have way too many categories. You said it was an investment forum but you have a lot of webmaster categories. Pick one niche and stick to it and promote that idea. Too much overwhelms people and they are less likely to join. You can always expand later.

    You may also need to hire posters to fill up the forum and to attract people. Once you start having members join, you can run contests to keep them coming back. It is hard work and you need to post often yourself. Promote anyway you can and add your site anyplace you can.

    Forums are hard but can be a success if you are willing to spend money to build and spend a lot of time. If you can do neither, it is best to try to sell the forum to someone interested in building it.
