I was just thinking about file hosting websites, because they are being used too much at this time.
What do I need to run a file hosting website?
How many dedicated servers?
Any licence?

If possible, give me some information about creating and running file hosting websites

First of all, If you are really serious about it. You Must have Huge Budget Like $5000+
then go to sibsoft.net for purchasing XFILEHOSTINGPRO Script. or if you want custom script you need about $1000 Extra for it.
and you need about 4 Servers atleast in start which cost is about $150/month each (150x4/month)
and you also need a server administrator (Expert)
and also a correspondents (Support Team)
and also need a programmer and designer
and so on...
It will cost about $5000+ atleast. I am experienced about it

and if you are not serious you can start filehosting website with $800 and you ruin after 1 - 2 month. and all your money and time will lost.

I got another question. Is it illegal that people will upload things that don't have rights to share them? Will I have problems will law?

Simply put disclaimer on your website.
If any copyright holder complain you to delete copyrighted file. You Simply ask him for proof of copyright and delete the copyrighted file.

and also when you are purchasing server from any company you should clear them that any abuse report will be handle by you. not server company.

it needs large space but small memory, according to my friend's experience.

 

You need good memory too remember you are processing uploads and giving out downloads too.. its better you start with a vps not all sites get that much content
