What directories should I register with?

Hi all. I have a new site www.squidlinks.com which I guess is a directory - although it's supposed to be more of a fun place to visit. Some questions please:

What directories should I be registering with? Paid or free with reciprocal etc. What are the benefits of doing so and how does it affect PR, visitors etc.

I guess I'm asking whether I should spend some time registering with free directories?

 

first you should register to free link directories, the one's that do not require reciprocal links and look at the effect an then you can look for other tipes of directories. This is how I work
